Make a difference in a child's life!
Whatever your skills and interest, we have a place for you to help.
One of our greatest needs is Mentoring (Tutoring) Individual Students
Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, High School
Volunteers have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a student, establishing a unique & rewarding mentoring relationship in either the AEP (After School Enrichment Program) which serves children in grades K-6, or the CPP (College Prep Program) which serves students in grades 7-12.
This is usually one afternoon a week, from 4:30-5:30pm, Monday through Thursday.
Pre-Kindergarten (3 and 4 year olds)
These are the three and four year old students, learning their language and reading skills before entering kindergarten. There are many ways you can help them from reading with them, helping with craft projects, or helping with their English. This can be one morning or early afternoon a week, from 9:00am - 1:00pm, Monday through Friday.
1. Reading and helping an individual student with English,
2. Beginning Letter Sounds, Reading Sight words,
3. Puzzles, “Moon Sand”, Play House, Books, Letters,
4. Helping the Pre-K Teacher with any daily activities
There are also opportunities available with flexible hours, helping the teachers with preparing materials for class.
